I have visited many spas in the past and have never been treated so much like a queen. From the moment we enter the beautiful red rocks I can feel the stress melting away.

The view is breathtaking. The spa surrounds you with a positive energy that envelops your body. The staff has alway gone above and beyond for us...like making our special cookies and remembering what we like to eat. Everyone is always so accommodating.

I have been coming to Mii amo since 2001, and while friends and family over the years have roped me into visiting many other well known destination spas, I always seem to leave them all with varying degrees of disappointment. Simply put, Mii amo sets the standard, and as far as I am concerned, nothing comes close to ever beating it. I look forward to my yearly visits now, and politely decline offers to go elsewhere.

Now keep in mind that you won't find those crazy, competitive, group challenges here like balancing on a tightrope high in the air or jumping from a high pole, or walking on hot coals. If you need that, well, you should probably get that out of your system before coming here. But if you want to experience some of the very best body work, treatments, instructors, and guides while being enveloped in truly the most beautiful of all the canyons in Sedona, then you must come to Mii amo and skip the rest.

I can't say enough about the entire staff, top to bottom. They make it a deeply relaxing and revitalizing experience, and it always seems to me like the place runs with great ease (which is no small task). Lastly, while you may be tempted to dine at various spots in Sedona during your stay, I am willing to bet you that when it is all said and done, you will conclude that the Cafe at Mii amo is, hands down, the best cuisine in town.

If I am with a friend who has never been to Sedona, I may be coerced to get off my lounge chair at the pool long enough to accompany them to see the sunset at the airport or maybe go on a Pink Jeep Tour, but otherwise, except for those wonderful 8 AM hikes through the various canyons in and around Sedona (I encourage you to take them) with the staff guides every morning, there is really no other good reason to ever leave this place.

Like many, I am a stressed-out corporate professional who spends way too many hours at work. Therefore, for me, visiting Mii Amo is not just a want. It is a need. Time after time, Mii amo has helped restore my spirit and connect me with the things that should be my priorities. Mii Amo offers many of the traditional services -- massages, facials etc. -- and they are excellent. But what sets the spa apart for me are the incredible spiritual journey services that can be life-changing. And, when I am not in services, I am hiking in some of the most beautiful, mystical land on Earth -- and I have been fortunate to travel to many incredible places. I will always go back to Mii Amo to restore my zen. It's a bit of heaven on earth.

Tips for new guests:

• Don't overpack. You will live in your robe.
• Don't be afraid to come alone. I have met the most incredible people at Mii amo.
• All seasons are good. Even if it's hot, you can just adjust your routine.
• Your blackberry will not work -- but you shouldn't be on it anyway,
• Try some new things. You really can't go wrong with the treatments.
• Try the tapioca brulee. It's amazing and low calorie.
• Go to the manager's dinner -- great way to meet people.
